As a new teacher, not only do you have to consider time management issues surrounding instruction, but you are also faced with unbelievable amounts of paperwork. This is often a shock to new teachers who thought of teaching as only with their students. Teachers often have large amounts of paperwork to deal with, including:
  • IEPs (Individualized Education Plans)
  • Tracking Attendance
  • Keeping Grades
  • Assigning and Gcoring Homework
  • Scoring Tests
  • Preparing for Standardized Testing
  • Producing Plans for your Quarter, the Year, and your Curriculum
  • Demonstrating How You Address and Meet Standards
  • Reporting to Parents in Writing and in Person
  • Other School and Classroom Business.
There is no simple solution to dealing with all of these reports and forms. While documenting information and completing forms may not be your favorite part of teaching, it is here to stay, so consider a method of keeping up with it that will work for you.
