While there are many ways to motivate your students, we'll look here at 11 basic techniques
or elements that you can consider. Motivation is so important because without it your students
will not get the most from learning. If you use motivation to set the stage in advance, even
the most complex material can come to life.
To help you remember these 11 aspects of motivation, think of the acronym DRIVERS CARE, because
as the driver of your class, you care about the motivation of your students. You may not always
use all of these factors, and you might use some more than others, but keep in mind that the more
of these you motivators can incorporate into your teaching, the greater the chance that students will pay attention to, enjoy,
and retain what they learn.
